Landbot is a chat tool that gets embedded on websites. This page describes how Landbot can be detected technically, what obligation follows from Article 50 of the EU AI Act if you use Landbot, and how to check this yourself.
How Landbot is embedded technically
Landbot loads its widget from the following address(es): cdn.landbot.io. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools, under the "Network" tab, on any page you check.
Landbot also sets the JavaScript variable window.Landbot on the page.
What this means for you
Landbot is an AI dialogue system. If you use Landbot on your website, the disclosure duty under Article 50(1) of the EU AI Act applies with certainty: anyone talking to the chat must be able to recognise that it is AI.
How to check this on your own site
Open your browser's developer console on your own site (usually F12) and type window.Landbot. If that returns an object instead of "undefined", Landbot is embedded on the page.
What to do
Check whether the first message from your Landbot bot makes clear that an AI is responding. If it doesn't, add a disclosure right there — it has to appear in the first chat message, not in the legal notice.
